Do I need a licence to race?
Yes. If you do not have a MTBA licence, you will need to purchase a $20 day licence. This licence is valid for one race only.
Do I need to be a member of a club?
No.
What if I want to do other races in the year?
You will need to consider joining a club, then purchasing a MTBA yearly licence. Go to the Mountain Bike Victoria web page to find a club in your area. Then apply for a yearly MTBA licence through them. Alpine Cycling Club welcomes new members "Click Here" to go to our membership page.
Can I enter on the day?
No. Online entries close Wednesday, April 6th. Late entry (extra $10) is available on Friday, April 8th at the Alpine Cycling Club Headquarters between 7pm and 9pm.
What is the minimum age to ride the 6 hour solo.?
You need to be atleast 16 on race day. You can race the 6 hour as part of a team if you are under 16.
Can I camp at the race site?
No, camping is prohibited at Pioneer Park, however there are many excellent caravan and camping parks in Bright.
Do I have to ride for the entire duration of the race?
To record a result you have to complete at least one lap. After that you can do as many or as little laps as you like within the 6 hour period.
Please use caution on the course. With the recent warm weather, snakes are very active again.
There have been numerous sightings of snakes on different sections of the course. Please be vigilant when riding the course.

The 2012 Tour Down Under will be held January 15th to 22rd.
Members of the Alpine Cycling Club will be travelling to Adelaide again to ride to all the best spectator points around the courses of the event. Members and their guests are welcome to join the Alpine Cycling Club bunch.

The Annual Club Dinner is on the 17th March 2012. It is open to club members and invited guests. The venue is the Red Stag which will provide a set menu. There will be the normal awards, fun and laughs. As it happens to be St Patricks Day, the theme this year is to wear something green. If you have any ideas, or would like to contribute to the evening, please contact Aaron Smith. More details to come.
Le Grand Boucle will be held again over the weekend of December 8th & 9th.
Members of the Alpine Cycling Club are invited to join this supported ride over the majestic course through the Victorian High Country. Riders start at Bright on Saturday morning and ride to the Blue Duck (Anglers Rest) via Harrietville, Mount Hotham and Omeo. Sunday is the climb up to Falls Creek, down to Mt Beauty, then Tawonga Gap, finishing back in Bright.

Dirt Crits are held every tuesday night at 6pm.
Format - graded mens and womens dirt criteriums utilising the Rotary Pines single track and surrounding fire trail/access track (approx. 50% of each and avoiding the technical single track so all abilities can be confident of negotiating the course safely)

The club holds a meeting at the Club Rooms on the second thursday of each month, 7:30pm. All are welcome and encouraged to come along and have input into when, where and what the club does.
